Switched major to nursing?

Here's the whole deal

(thank you ahead of time for choosing to read the whole thing if you do)

I completed 19 credit hours at cleveland state university as a senior in high school. That year i made a 3.8 GPA. The following semester as a freshman I completed about 15 credit hours, and it wasn't a good semester for me at all, and my GPA plummeted to a 3.05. After this semester, i'm doing about 15 or so again and anticipate on making a 3.1 minimum. I changed my major to pre-nursing and I'm transferring to Ohio State U, this coming fall.

The courses relative to nursing that i completed were biology, chemistry, psychology and english. The biology i took, which translated to a higher level biology at OSU, i received a C in and plan on retaking the lighter bio course, that qualifies for nursing, in OSU. In psychology, i anticipate on receiving a B. In Chemistry, which i completed in high school, i received a B. In english, which i also completed in high school, i received an A.

The courses i took that were not relative to nursing, such as general education requirements, i received all A's and B's on. The courses i received an A in were completed in high school and the courses in which i anticipate on receiving a B, i [will complete this spring] as a freshman. Other courses that I took that are not relative to nursing, but were relative to a different major before i switched majors, was a much higher level of chemistry, and calculus. I took calculus twice because I received a D the first time and needed a better grade for my initial major, so i'm repeating it and anticipate on getting a B.

With all of that being said, If i receive all A's on the rest of my pre-reqs that I need to complete, which I promise to do, how will the college of nursing at OSU feel about my previous grades at CSU. I understand that my entire GPA is calculated in, from every course at every college attended. We all know that getting straight A's next year is not going raise my 3.05 to the suggested 3.7 or higher to get into the program. I also understand that they look at the over all GPA and the GPA of the pre-reqs separately as well. So if i do well next year on the rest of my pre-reqs, will that out weigh my horrible GPA from non-pre-req courses? Will my bad history hold me back? Will they take into consideration the fact that nearly half of my college career so far was completed while in high school and it was done very well, and also take into consideration that I changed majors and that i wasn't doing well in courses that have nothing to do with nursing?

I'm already a year behind, if i do get into the program, i'll still have to stay an extra year at OSU and i don't know how I'm going to pay for that. all of my tuition has been paid by financial aid and grants and that all ends once my 4 years are up.

Quite frankly, i'm scared. I'm very scared.

My advice to you is to do very well in nursing prerequisites! Get your GPA as high as you can with A's in the next couple of years. I also would suggest applying to other schools besides the one you have your heart on, it opens new possibilities and you can have a back up plan if you don't get in at first. Never give up, you're on the right path :-)

OH BTW, i found out that repeating my calculus course replaces the initial grade, so if i receive a B on it, my gpa will increase to maybe a 3.2ish, and ill have a better chance to raise my GPA if i do well on my pre reqs

I would retake some classes. Whatever classes you can to raise that GPA. Most BSN programs go off of cumulative GPA and the HESI score. Do you have to take that test? I would speak with a nursing advisor at OSU to see what you can do to increase your chances of getting in the program.
