SUNY Delhi Fall 2020

Hello,

I didn't see a thread yet for Delhi so I wanted to get a thread started for applicants that's going to SUNY Delhi for the fall 2020. My cumulative GPA is a 3.4 , I don't think it's competitive but i'm hoping for the best . This school is really small and not talk much about on "allnurse" . Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

I'm finishing up my nursing degree at SUNY Delhi, and I had a completely positive experience throughout. The professors are approachable, and really seem to be invested in your success. I'm not sure if you're thinking classroom or online, but I chose to go through their online program. Initially, I was hesitant to take an online course, only because I was not big on online learning, and I had some friends who had gone through other online nursing programs and had experienced a lot of challenges. My experience was the exact opposite. I never felt as though I was "alone", which I think can be one of the major drawbacks of not being in a traditional classroom, and the professors made every effort, even above and beyond efforts to engage us all. The program itself is, like all nursing schools, appropriately rigorous, but the difference I found at Delhi is that everyone is willing to help you out. There are quite a few resources available to all students, like tutoring for example, and the professors, as I mentioned before, really seem to go out of their way to help you be successful.

Stanley,

I didn't attend Delhi for my RN program, but I did the RN-BSN online program and loved it. I am a really good test taker and don't have great time management skills, so I was nervous about an online program (classroom stuff is easier for me), but I worked nights so I went for it or I never would've finished my BSN. It was much more of a personal-feeling program than I would've thought, and you feel like you're interacting with people a lot considering you never meet them in person! I had a lot of the same classmates and professors for different classes throughout the program too, which was nice. I think I learned a lot more through having to write papers (which gets much easier with time) and do other presentations, and it made me feel more professional and more prepared to do that sort of thing at work. The online courses are seven weeks at a time which is a good pace.

I also felt that people at the school really reached out, such as advisors (I don't even remember if I had an advisor for my RN program), and there is a writing tutor and online library which are extremely helpful resources.

Hope this helps!

Hi! I’ve just been accepted to Delhi’s RN to BSN program and was wondering if you could tell me more about it? Such as cost? Length of program, etc? If it helps, I live in state and am finishing my associates at Suffolk county community college. Thanks!
