Suggestions on how to study pharm?

Published

Pharm seems to be a difficult subject for me. Any suggestions on how to prepare for the pharm section of the nclex?

How do you know when you are ready on the pharm nclex portion?

I don't know if you want to hear this and not sure if I would suggest it, but personally I didn't study for pharm. I thought to myself realistically, there are probably hundreds to thousands of different kinds of medications, dozens and dozens of classes - what are the chances of me actually getting a medication I knew on the NCLEX? Not very high! The reason to give it, side effects, nursing implications, etc... it was just too much for me to realistically remember. I did get a buttload of medication questions though, majority of them I have never even heard of, but I don't think studying them would have made a difference. Thankfully it all worked out.

You know, I am trying to learn the basic med's, and it feels like hitting a moving target. Thank you for letting me know.

Here's a link I'm using now. I wouldn't just go off this though but its a easy way to remember drugs for me.

I took my nclex in July had a TON of med questions, my advice is know what the drug is and what is for and match it with the diagnosis that the question is asking for. Good luck to you!
