stupid question maybe?

I live in New Jersey. I have my Associate's degree and am a Registered Nurse. I'm currently enrolled in a RN to BSN program. I was just wondering if anyone knows what is needed after that to become a Nurse Practitioner? Is it a specific Master's program for that? Is it schooling AFTER I've achieved an MSN? Any ideas?

You enter an MSN program with a concentration in whatever type of NP you want to be. For example, I entered a Family Nurse Practitioner MSN program. You graduate with an MSN, then you take a certification exam to become a nurse practitioner (just like you graduate with an ASN or BSN and take the NCLEX to become an RN). Hope that helps :)

Yes that helped! I thought that's how it worked but I wasn't positive. I appreciate your response.:)
