Stony Brook Accelerated 2012

Hey everyone,

I've been following along on here for awhile, and just about to finish my first prerequisite (Chemistry 131) at Nassau Community College in May! I am hoping/planning on attending Stony Brook's 12-month Accelerated Program for 2012. I am taking two summer classes at NCC - Microbiology & Anatomy and Physiology I, and then will just have A&P II to take in the Fall.

Is anyone else hoping/planning on going to SBU in 2012? I went their for my first undergraduate degree (Psychology) and I was really impressed with their numbers -- 92% of students taking the nursing exam passed (I think that was the third highest in NYS for schools that give BSNs).

Anyway, I am just getting incredibly excited at the prospect, and was wondering if anyone was in a similar boat!

I am in the same boat as you! I will be graduating in May from another SUNY School with a Community Health degree. I have already taken A&P I & II, and I am taking Chem I in the fall and Chem II and Microbio in the spring. I am really nervous about how competitive these programs are, and am planning on applying to a bunch.

Hey Mindy!

I'm hoping to do the same thing as you! I just completed Anatomy and Physiology I and am all prepared for Chemistry and A&P II this fall at NCC! Are you sure the accelerated program isn't only for people who already have their bachelors degree? I was interested in the accelerated program as well but I think its only for those who have their bachelors.... I definitely plan on asking though because I am up for the challenge :-)! I've heard amazing things about Stony Brook and am really excited to apply. I really hope I get in for the fall 2012. If you want you can drop me a line by email...it would be nice to have a friend through Nassau and hopefully through SB! Good luck!!!
