just need some advice please. I am going to buy a new scope--- this old cheap one ain't cutting it. I work in Critical Care and take a lot of manual BPs. From what I hear I need a Littman, I plan on cruising their website, but if anyone has any advice--- new, or e-bay? Diaphragm and bell, or not? is expensive better? I am open to all advice. also, I am a little hard of hearing with certain tones, so if anyone had advice about scopes for the HOH I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance! ---Katy

I went from the cheapo one to a Littman Classic II and let me tell you....wow....what a difference it makes. You'll hear things you have never heard before. Mine cost $80 (we purchased a huge quanity at school). Some of the people got the Master Cardio and they really like them but honestly, I'm so happy with mine :-)
Our instructors did warn us to stay away from the Light series because they are designed for nothing more than B/P. You don't hear breath sounds well. One of the girls had one and the instructors were right...it was hard to hear B/P or breath sounds compared to the Classic II. She ended up buying the Classic II when we ordered.
Good luck and happy shopping!!!

I too have a Littman Classic II...well worth the money... you may want to go a step further and get the Cardio one however. Personally, it really wouldn't hurt to have both... :chuckle
thank you for your replies. i am thinking about just spending over $330.00 and getting the electronic one... i am HOH and it amplifies eighteen times... if anyone has one please tell me what you think! wow--- this will be the first time in about ten years i have spent this much money on anything other than food or shelter! LOL.
