Hey Everyone,
My name is Liz and I was looking for some insight into the nursing field. A little about me. I'm 27 and after a difficult undergrad journey struggling with depression and anxiety, I graduated with my bachelors in criminal justice in 2014. Unfortunately, I haven't had much success in finding employment outside of customer service positions. I did work briefly in the CJ field in pretrial services, however I was really bored with the position. Years ago I thought about getting into nursing because of my desire to help others. Since leaving my last position, I thought this would be the right time to take some science courses and start the journey into nursing. I feel like its my calling. I am very nervous because I've only taken one bio class and now im signed up for anatomy and physiology along with micro. I'm scared this will be another failed endeavor. Is there any advice from those who came from other career fields and switched to nursing? Thanks!

I would recommend doing only 2 of those 3 classes that you mentioned together. Taking all 3 at the same time might end up hurting you at the end. Of course I am not familiar with your study habits so anything is possible, but that is just my opinion. Good luck!

Take on science class at a time to get yourself used to it first, you do not want to set yourself up for failure. I took a+p 2 w/ micro together this semester and they complimented each other nicely but I know other's have had difficulty taking those two together considering they both have a lab so it's really like four classes instead of two. I have been in nursing since 19 so I can't give you much advice for career switching but wanted to wish you luck : )
