1st week down

what a wk. i havent actually been on the floor yet its been all general orientation and test taking but so far so good. so far everyone seems nice. along with the preceptor program they offer an intern type of program where you take classes to help with the student to nurse transition. My nurse manager was very nice to let me take the class. I was in the lunchroom today and felt a tap on my shoulder it was my manager and she gave me a hug and I thanked her for letting me take the class and she said she looked forward to having me on the floor next week. I am so nervous but Im really excited

Congratulations on your new position. It seems like you will have a caring work environment. How long is your new grad transition? In the ICU do they give you 6 months of classroom support and preceptor training?
