1st week on the floor

WOW im so lucky my preceptor is amazing. If any of you have carondelet health or ascesion healths in ur area .....a great place to work....

My preceptor is soooooo patient theres alot i just didnt get in school and shes been so nice. I dont feel bad for asking questions and she just keeps encouraging me that I will get it . I told her that i felt bad about my time management(she says sometimes it just gets crazy and emergencies happen and you fall behind.) she didnt make me feel stupid even when i did stupid things...like get a 6cc syringe for a picc(in my defense i looked at the wrong notes and thought he had a peripheral line)and then even though i had used a med pyxis b4 I kept being really slow on it today. plus i didnt know where ANYTHING and was having some problems remembering everything. Iwas like Oh crap forgot flushes,oh crap forgot alcohol wipes..etc but she was still really nice.

She kept apologizing because she was late sending me to lunch I joked that It made me feel like a real nurse.

Everyone else was really nice also.

I had a really good day I was busy and my feet hurt and Im tired but I dont feel like crying and Im not dreading going in tomorrow.

I just thought I would share and let other new grads know that not every floor is bad
