Hello,

I was wondering if anyone new if as an FNP in New York state I could open my own allergy clinic and provide immunotherapy to patients? Would I need to share a business with a physician or just collaborate with them as needed?

Thank You for your responses,

Not at this moment. Starting January 1, 2015, thanks to the NP modernization act that passed in April, NPs who have at least 3600 hours experience can be independent practitioners, with just showing some collaborative relationship with a physician per Medicare guidelines, but does not need a signed collaborative agreement with a MD. Read about it on thenpa.org.

Thank you for your reply Sha-Sha RN. I'm also still wondering if I would have to be certified in Allergy or something like that to be able to open such a practice. I am able to mix immunotherapy myself. But, I am unsure if I am able to dispense it to patients with out a certification of some sorts.
