Does anyone know what the current evening and night shift differentials are at st vincents? I forgot to ask my nurse manager when I was hired.

Thanks

5.25 or 5.50 night

2.25 evening

Did you get a choice of days, evenings, or nights? Also, if you're working 12's did the manager tell you how it works with overtime?

I'm starting on my pre-reqs this fall and I'm just full of questions :)

Hi Quiltedstar,

I applied for nights 7pm to 7:30am (12hr shift) When I interviewed for the job, the manager said that she was not sure that she had any nights left over and that she had evening shifts open for sure 3pm-11:30 (8hr). This would cause me to need to alternate working 4 and 5 days a week during "family time"

I don't have issues with childcare since my hubby works at home. On the evening shift (when son's school is in session) I would leave to work before he gets home. and I would get home after he goes to bed. Working nights, I would get home just in time to give him a kiss and send him off to school, then go to bed, and then wake up 7 hours later to pick him up from school and make dinner and help with some of his homework. Night shift would be ideal for my family.

The manager did explain the overtime to me, I cant remeber now (there was a LOT of stuff dicussed that day) but I think overtime went on how many hours worked per pay period. Like you couldn't work 48 hours in one week and work 32 the next and still get overtime for the previous week. (I think)

I don't know if she had day shifts open, I am completley uninterested in days. I sure hope I get that night shift though......
