Oct 13, 201510 yr Hey guys,I'm just getting this thread started for the Winter 2015/2016 round of New Grad applications at Sharp in San Diego. It looks like the Grossmont applications open Oct 13 and then the rest of the apps open Oct 26.Best of luck everyone!
Oct 14, 201510 yr I went to apply but once I opened the specific new grad job, it says you must have your license at time of application. Program starts Jan 17. Do you know if that's the case for all Sharp facilities or just for Grossmont?
Oct 15, 201510 yr Not sure but I would expect that it is the same for all of the Sharp locations since the application is a generic format.
Oct 16, 201510 yr Author I'm not sure where you were seeing that requirement. I believe that they only require that you're licensed by the program start date- not the time of application. Is it not allowing you to move forward with your application because of this?
Oct 16, 201510 yr It appears when you apply for the specific job. The start date looks like it will be Jan 17 and with graduation a month before that, I think I'm pushing it this round. Good luck to everyone!
Oct 24, 201510 yr Thanks for making this thread! I applied even though I don't have a license yet, but I'm hoping for the best.
Oct 26, 201510 yr How is everyone feeling with how they are handling applications this round? Only being able to select one position to apply for...good or bad?
Oct 28, 201510 yr I'm having a hard time with only picking one choice. Does anyone know if they will consider you for other positions that also match your qualifications? Sharp is really great, best of luck to all of us
Oct 28, 201510 yr I don't know for sure, but I would assume you wouldn't be considered for positions you didn't select. I think this is an additional way to weed people out. It seems like it would really limit the amount of applicants for each position. It's a fantastic method because we won't be competing with as many people, but also bummer because of possible missed opportunities with the positions we didn't select. So, I'm torn with loving the idea and hating the idea. Haha. Just take a second and really think about you would feel if you called to interview for any of the positions.....whichever one you would feel the most excited for...go for it! Or you could try to weight pros and cons?? I don't know...it IS a touch decision though! Good Luck to you!
Oct 29, 201510 yr Good luck everyone! I've been checking everyday, but no changes to status. How about anyone else? Mine still says "under consideration".
Oct 29, 201510 yr I'll be applying as an experienced nurse transitioning into L&D at Mary Birch (I understand they do the same training as new grads). I know a lot about Marriage Birch and would love to work there but I hear the pay is low for San Diego. Does anyone know what the starting pay is? Night differential? BSN, MSN pay?
