I'm currently taking my pre-reqs for either TCC or Sentara; I haven't decided between the two. I understand that Sentara is making some changes to their college requirements this summer. Does anyone know what these are going to be?
THANKS!

Sentara is going to a bachelors program starting August 2010. They haven't officially released their new list of prereqs but I'm pretty sure they will be adding quite a few more intense classes to get students prepared for a bachelors program... that's really all I know hope it helped = )
So, I wonder if they will still offer the RN program? Do you know when they plan to announce this? I guess the only place that you can get a RN in Virginia Beach area (without going through the HRBT) is TCC (not including MCI).

TCC will still have it's ADN program ... as will Norfolk State ... and Thomas Nelson Community College (in Newport News) ... and Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin ... as well as MCI ... and there is another proprietary school that has just opened, but I can't think of the name. Riverside (in Newport News) has no immediately plans to convert its diploma program to either an ADN or BSN program. They will still be offering the diploma for at least a couple more years.

Check Sentara's website. They have on there that they will be making the announcement this summer for the new changes. Two years ago I went with my daughter to an open house and they said then they would eventually be going to offer a BSN. They made it sound like there would be a choice between an ADN or bachelor's, however I do not know if that is a fact or not. It doesn't make sense how each program at the community colleges and hospitals all have different prerequisites to get admission into them. You definitely have to make a decision on a program to take the right prereq's for each different program. It will be interesting to see what the changes will be.
