Anyone on this forum has knowledge about whether or not the US hire Canadian RPN/LPN? Any information volunteered will be gladly appreciated. Thank you.

I am not sure. I have never met a Canadian LPN in the USA, come to think of it, but that doesn't mean anything. I would just call a hospital you might be interested in working at, and ask them. Surely they could tell you! Do you know if immigration allows for you to work in the US as an LPN?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm a US citizen, living in canada (married a wonderful canadian ;) ) and Planning on getting my lpn here and then hoping to move back to Texas and work. I've been a bit weary of taking the plunge into a program thought, without knowing for sure.

Anyway, I just got off the phone with someone from the Texas BON and she told me all I'd have to do is fill out an endorsement application. I was pretty sure a test of some sort was in order, but she didn't mention it.

You should check out (whichever state your thinking about) nursing board, and give them a call or shoot them an email.

Also, the man I spoke with at the school I'm thinking of attending told me it was easy to transfer my license down to the states... but then again he could just want my money??? so, if you find anything else out let me know, and vise versa!!!

good luck

I'm an LPN in Illinois and wondered if I could work in Canada. Am I able to move there and work, or do I have to be an RN to do that?
