Second time taking NCLEX! Hurst uworld & Ncsbn

Hey guys,

I am a habitual reader of everything on allnurses, especially everything on NCLEX. I failed the first time, looking back I have no clue what I was thinking! Many of my classmates had taken it and passed and I felt the false reassurance that everyone was passing it so I shouldn't be worried. I took a 3 day hurst review right after graduating as well as did 4 of the qreviews but didn't really take the time to look at it and understand the material/rationales. Figured I'd be fine either way and relaxed up until a couple days before and did a quick review. Took NCLEX for the first time in Mid january. I felt terrible! Took all 265 questions and left with a throbbing headache! Found out I failed 2 days later with quick results although I basically knew it. Got my CPR which reported near passing on all. I was devastated but honestly felt like I deserved it for not taking it as seriously as I should have.

Second time around: researched every possible thread on what programs help the most. Tried looking at my hurst stuff but realized it just wasn't sticking... now don't get me a wrong it is a great review but for me, it just wasn't helping. I don't do well with memorizing, i have to understand the material and HURST wasn't doing it for me 😭.. also realized that hurst touched lightly on some things that the NCLEX went a little deeper into. So I tried the NCSBN... so many people swear by it.. again for me it felt like the questions were almost too easy although I do recognize some of the stuff from the NCLEX. I wasn't satisfied. Come in uworld! Uworld was my saving grace. Love love love uworld. Although it is a qbank and not "content review" I felt like the rationales were basically all the content review you needed. I would study some specific area and then use uworld to test myself. I love it. Try it if you feel like you aren't getting it with other programs!

So i went in today at 2, finished about an hour and 45 minutes after. I had a total of 75 questions. 22 SATA. No med calc no drag and drop and honestly don't remember any other format but I left feeling great. I took a break at question 49 and still felt pretty good. Waiting to be able to get unofficial results until I can call myself an RN. Did PVT trick and got the good pop up but it won't be official till I see that license number 😊

Feel free to ask any questions! I would love to help anyone because this site helped me so much!
