I am currently applying to any of the second degree nursing program in Canada. I am an international applicant. I have a Masters' Degree in Medical Microbiology. I have my transcripts evaluated by WES. My GPA is not stella, but i tried. I have applied for Canadian FSW, and hoping i get a PR.
I am starting this thread for all who are interested in applying for multiple of such programs in Canada. Let us exchange ideas.
I intend to apply to Humber, Trent, York, and Alberta.
I am curr to take the Biol235 program at athabasca, as I did not take the Anatomy and Physiology option in school.
How long does the program Biol235 take at athabasca? Which University or college can anyone recommend for me to apply to, that will increase my probability of getting admission?

Hi kenifeh,
I took BIOL235 at Athabasca U this summer, and they give you up to 12 months to complete the course. I had near-zero background in chemistry/biology (nothing in the past five years) and I managed to complete it in just under three months and ended up getting an A-. I think I could have gotten an A if I had more time, but I was rushing a bit to complete it before application deadlines and was also working 50 hours a week.
If I could give you one piece of advice about the course, it would be this: do practice questions! There are lots of introductory anatomy/physiology practice sets online on sites like quizlet and the more exposure to have to the types of questions being asked, the better. I actually found that a lot of the questions I practiced with ended up being asked on the quizzes and exams, in the exact same phrasing and with the same answer options.
I don't have any other advice except to apply to as many programs as you have the prerequisites for (e.g. don't just apply to a university if they require an English credit and you don't have that, but the more programs you apply to, the better your chances are)
Good luck!
Thanks alot eeenfermera
Your advise will go a very long way. I will give BIOL235 at Athabasca a short and try to complete it with good grade.
