I have a question for you guys that were accepted already. Im taking my pre reqs and wondering if Micro is a pre req or not. On Suffolk website it says it is, but I heard some other people saying it is not. Im taking A&P 2 and wondering if I can mail my application now. Also, my grades are not that good:

A&P 1 A

PSY B +

ENG B

A&P taking this semester

Do you think I will be able to get into the program?? Thank you

It's very competitive, I had A's across the board including micro. Micro isn't a pre req, but it looks better if you're in the process of taking it when they go to review your application. I've heard of people getting in with 3.5-4.0's, pull off the A in anatomy 2 and I think you'll be fine. I also handed a letter of recommendation, they aren't required but they help.

Apply for both campuses, grant only has 30 seats while I believe ammerman holds 50.

It's supposed to give you preference if you have taken it. Grants evening program was my only option so I'm glad that I was accepted.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help Lettuce and Rich. I will give my best to get an A in A&P 2 and I will probably take Micro before I apply since I don't have A's like you guys. I work at nights, so days work better for me and Ammerman is also closer. At least, at this point I got lucky since they have more seats. Thank you again

I was wondering if they calculate micro into the GPA that they go by if you did take it? Or do they just do the four classes for your GPA and look to see if you have taken micro and those people get preference over people who didn't take it ? I'm applying to ammerman for the fall can't seem to find a thread for the new applicants either .

hi, I just spoke with a counselor recently and she told me they don't calculate your micro GPA. they just calculate the other four classes GPA and if, for example, they have one spot left and 2 people with the same score on those classes, they will look to see if any of the 2 people already took micro, so then they give preference.
