Saunders NCLEX prep 9th edition (2023)

Greetings everyone. Long time lurker. I searched through the keywords, for other topics that people have mentioned "Saunders" in them but I can't find what I am looking for. I am in my last semester. Graduate in April. I got the 9th edition, which supposedly has next-gen to prepare for the format change next year.

But I am stuck with how to go about reading this book. Do I dive into a random chapter/body systems, and do questions and rationales? Or do I start from page 1 and work my way all the way through to the end, like any other book? I have read that there is so much content that to go through every single page might not be wise..if anyone could help. please.

Hello.

It's been a while since nursing school but when I taught LVN I did a little presentation on HOW to take a test.

After that my strategy is questions, questions, questions. I had students buy different questions banks and share with others so every student have access to at least 2 different banks and 2 different style of questions.

10 questions/day every day. No matter if you get something right read the rationale for WHY it's right and the other answers are wrong. If you go "WOW! is it asking me?" or "They never taught us this!" you might wanna read through the chapter in Saunders.

If you want to treat it like a textbook I generally recommend cardiac, respiratory and urinary system (heart, lungs, kidneys).

Hope this helps and good luck!
