RN programs IN NY / Prerequsites

HI I am 22 years old and am pursuing a career in nursing. I attended 2 years of college, however i do not have the correct courses to proceed to apply to a nursing program. I feel like every program requires me to do anatomy and Physiology 1 and two before even applying. My concern with that is that will delay me a year becasue clearly you take them in sequent semesters. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY INSTITUTION IN OR AROUND NY THAT allows you to sit in nursing school as you are taking anatomy and P, as opposed to PREREQS????

Hi There-

You should check out some of these private schools, their day programs may allow you to take your non-nursing courses with the nursing courses. I attend Hopfer now and I know it is an option. I have not heard of any evening program that will let you in without completing most of your prereqs first. Good Luck!

Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers

Hopfer School of Nursing in Mt Vernon

St Vincent's School of Nursing in Queens and Staten Island

You may also want to check LPN programs given by the local board of education (i.e Long Island, Westchester, NYC).

I think there is a dipolma school in Conneticut that takes students without A & P.
