RN pay in Texas

Published

Hi there!!! I have a question for you all.

How is the pay for nurses in Texas? I am specifically asking for the San Antonio area but info about Texas in general would also be helpfull. I am currently an RN in Arizona and am planning to later on move to San Antonio.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

New grads without shift differential start at about $18 or so. Most of the experienced RNs I know make a little over or under $30. It's very cheap to live in San Antonio.

you can negotiate your experience, as a new grad in a private hospital i started out around 19, im just under 21 after a year and a half and at a public hospital with onc pt with a 1 to 3 ratio, i love it!!!! my friend works agency with the same experience at 36/hr
