RN-BSN Help

Published

Hey Guys!

I'm going to be graduating from my ADN program in December and I need help choosing an RN-BSN program. Right now, I'm between Grand Canyon and ASU. I have pre-reqs completed for both programs and price seems to be in the same arena. Does anyone have any experience with either of these programs? If so, how/why did you choose the program you did? Any advice is appreciated.

I ultimately chose NAU due to it being the least expensive quality University in Phoenix Metro. However, I did research ASU, UofA, GCU, and NAU before choosing. ASU and UofA are the most expensive. UofA is a fantastic program but is competitive and expensive. They also require a few extra pre reqs and a second language. ASU is also expensive, but will known and liked for the core nursing program. For an RN-BSN, it doesnt really matter as much since at that point you already recieved your nursing education elsewhere. GCU is much less expensive than ASU. ABout $5000 less before considering the GPA scholarships they give out as well as other in house award money so their price comes down a lot. Then there is NAU, which is the least expensive.

Since your core nursing education is completed, where you get your BSN isnt very important as long as its an accredited and respectable school. The only time it would matter is if you plan to apply to prestigious school for post graduate education. Outside of that, most hospital and medical facilities don't care. There are probably a few who do, but most don't. You can't go wrong with either of the 2 schools you are interested in.
