Hello all
I am a returning RN graduated in 1995 I worked LTC for about 6 months while keeping my full time job (Post Office) It was to hard on my family to keep both jobs so I left nursing to keep the postal job which paid better at the time. Well here I am now trying to get back into nursing... I was hired at a local magnet hospital with an orientation of 12 weeks I was there 3 weeks and knew that hospital nursing was not for me I was reinstated back at my Postal job and am still wanting to give it a go... I am leaning towards the slower pace of LTC. I actually enjoy the company of the older set. What are yout thoughts??? Should I take a refresher to get back into LTC? My license is active and I have kept up with my proffesional journals. Oh I am a guy ...do you think that would in any way lessen chances of me being hired in LTC???
Thanks for your help

I would say follow your Heart desire where you think are going to be happy and beneficial not only to your family but also to community.Nursing is tough but alot of people they have a heart for it and you can't see on their face the hardship of their profession because they are happy serving other.
just my 2 cent
