Response time when on call?

Right now our required response time is within 45 minutes when on call. What is the response time in your facilities? I am trying to hire new nurses, but everyone lives an hour away, limiting my choices. I want to change the policy but need some ideas as to what is typical in other places. Thanks.

hi! we have a two hour window from the time we get paged until we get to hospital and get the pt.on. hope this helps!

We also have two hours. On our call days we usually are called by 5 (am or pm) to come in for the shift. But if not, and then during the shift someone decided the call person needs to come in, the person on call then has a max of 2 hours to get in.

I use to take call and we had an hour to get to the hospital. I lived 30 minutes away and that was pushing it get ready and get there.

45 minutes is really pushing it.

I work for multiple dialysis companies. With 1 company we have 2 hours to get the patient on treatment and with another company I have 4 hours to get the patient on.

Keep in mind, that you need travel time to the hospital and you need to have set up time for your machines, testing of the machines and assessment of the patient.
