Repro book

Did anyone use a different book than the one they suggest? I'm looking it up on amazon and barnes and noble and it really doesn't have the greatest of reviews.

I used studyguide 101 Rn Bridge and nclex review got a A..

I used study group and college network got A and use Saunders

I didn't like the reviews on the newer one as well and stuck with the previous Content Guide's recommended pair of books: Old's Maternal-Newborn Nursing and Wong's Essentials of Pediatric Nursing. I was actually in the middle of studying for that exam when Excelsior changed the reading material recommendations to the newer book, but I didn't want to spend hard-earned cash on a questionable textbook. So, I took the chance and continued the way I was going.

Earned an "A" in repro using the previous textbooks with a lot of knowledge to spare... felt I learned a lot more than I would have with the newer recommended text. It was also the only exam that didn't throw a question that was over my head, so I can only assume that I was well prepared because of those books. If you don't mind A LOT of reading, you could consider that route and there might be some good used book offers out there. My educational weakness *used* to be the diapered carpet crawlers and repro... not anymore after both of those hefty books, lol!

Good luck to you!
