Relocating to Oregon

Hello again,

Hello everyone. I a 36 year old woman who's completely changing careers from technology to nursing. I intend to pursue my BSN (assuming of course that I do well with my pre-req's and get accepted :) Then work for at least two years and go back and get my FNP. My life will revolve around working lots and lots and studying even more....exciting huh?!? :D

I'm moving to Oregon in the beginning of April. The plan is to move in, get a job (I'm trying to get trained and then work as a CNA in an acute care facility)...the start my pre-reqs again this summer (I've taken Algebra at Chemeketa online...got a 4.0... ). I was planning on doing this in the Salem area....but I'm looking for the absolute drop-dead, no frills, cheap, living arrangement. Like even a basement apartment in someone's house....My only preferences are that I'd prefer private bathroom facilities and I'd prefer to not live with mostly undergrads (I'm 36 and don't intend to have much of a social life so quiet would be great).

If anyone knows of anything...please don't hesitate to contact me through all nurses.com (we can then do e-mail and phone calls.....I can even provide references from my last landlord, former roommates, you name it. For the right place, I'd even be willing to pay a couple months in advice to hold the place.

Thanks so much!!

Oh and Happy Holidays!

Peace,

Cathie

Try www.oregonlive.com. There are a ton of apartment listings. Do you know what part of town you want to live in? How close in? I live in NW close in and LOVE it. It is pretty expensive but the neighborhood is fantastic - and I never need to drive anywhere. :wink2:
