hello, everybody I have a major issue that im worried about I have been a cna for a lil over two months no job offers or nothing i really think its because of my criminal record. i have no felonies i have never assaulted any elderly people. but the thats i think is plaguing me is in the past 10 years i have gotten 5 dui convictions the last 3 were all put together where i was railroaded. i finished the court programs and healthcare is all i ever wanted to do so what do i do really i need help any suggestions/:uhoh3:

It seems to me they don't do background checks until after your initial interview and a couple reference checks. Do you have some bad references in your past? Have someone call and act as if they are potential employers to see what kind of ref's you are getting, maybe? Good luck and hang in there someone somewhere is bound to give you a chance. Alot of folks are turning to nursing/cna positions because of the crappy job market. Good luck and hang in there. And when you DO get an interview, be honest (to a degree) accept responsibility and let them know what you have done to rectify your position in life.

We aren't allowed to give legal advice, but unfortunately any kind of criminal record can make you look irresponsible and untrustworthy to an employer. I'm sure you will still be able to find something, but it may take you a lot longer than a person without a criminal record.
