recruiters

A lot has been said about recruiters, and I do have to add some things. I just had a phone call from the one I worked with at my last agency. I left them for a couple of reasons, one being financial (they were part of another company that got into some financial trouble but have since been bought by someone else) and the other being that they didn't have quite the assignments I wanted and weren't quick to find me something, although when they did the pay was good. But the big thing was that she just didn't seem to understand what I wanted. My recruiter with my current agency (OA) is great! I explained to her this last time exactly what I like best, and she had me an interview within just a couple of days. They have been very quick to find me both assignments I've done with them, and very good to work with me when housing was a mess last time.

I did some talking with a third agency (Trustaff) which I really kind of liked, but none of the recruiters I've worked with except the first one, who left, have been very good to get back with me. My advice to anyone is, if you are having trouble working with your recruiter but like your company, ask for a different one; if the company won't work with you on that, it may be time to switch companies. Your recruiter can make or break your experience, no matter how good your assignment is or could be.

That is soo true. One of the reasons I left travelling was my favorite recruiter no longer worked with the company. I tried one assignment with the new person but it just wasn't the same. I hope that I am able to find that special one when I start travelling again.icon7.gif
