I bought this $15 one from walmart... by Olympus I believe. Its a tape recorder. I dont mind that at all. Anyway it was loud and clear for me! =)

I bought an expensive Sony that had all these features. It had translation software and all this other stuff. I never use the translation software. I just use the recorder and convert the files to MP3 files that I can load onto my IPOD. If I had to do it over I would probably go for the lower priced recorder. Olympus, I hear is reasonably priced and has good recorded sound. Just make sure you can convert it to an MP3 file. Having a recorder and listening to the lectures in my car and whenever I had a chance really helped me. I was able to get all A's my first quarters of nursing school with the help of my recorder.

Best of luck to you.

Best regards,

olympus. cost $100. i like that it does mp3 and wav files, has enough storage for a whole tests worth of lectures, easy files, great sound quality and volume, and has a usb attached-no looking for the right cables anymore.

i should have bought it long ago. it has contributed greatly to my ability to get through both Micro and A&P 2 wa's so far this semester. Spend the money on a decent one rather than get a cheaper one and be frustrated. I found it to be worth the investment.
