Recommend a school for CRNA????

I am interested in hearing from those presently in a CRNA program or graduate CRNAs on what school you would reccomend and why. I still have a long way to go but my career goal is CRNA. I have done some research...I know most of the programs seem to be 27 months but I want (when the time comes) to be in a good program that will teach me skills to do all types of cases. I have heard that some programs you don't get as much clinical training due to the fact that you are training in the same places the docs train and they get more clinical experience just because they are becoming docs and not a CRNA. Any truth to this and can you please recommend a school and why or any program that should be avoided and why? Thanks in advance.

kaiser permanente/csuf, probably one of the best educations for the dollar. lots and lots of clinical. pharmacology taught by one of only 7 (i think) doctors of pharmacology that is also a CRNA. he also writes the textbooks.

Kaiser/CSUF clinical sites (most) you do not compete for cases. At CHLA and Riverside County you work with MD/OD residents, but you have good cases.

The clinical sites include all of the Kaisers in So. Cal as well as Honalulu. plus: Children's Hosp Los Angeles(pediatric specialty), Arrowhead regional(traumas), Navy in San Diego(regionals), Riverside County (trauma) and California Hosp. (independence with no supplies or resources)..... just kiddin'!

Since you both recommended the same school / program could you give some insight in the selection process or how to go about making yourself a favorable candidate? Thanks!

I can't speak for the clinical side yet. but last year 50% of TWU's sudents got the highest possible score on the cert. exam. passing is one thing. but theses students consistatly make 100%. we learn more than is really needed in the theory portion but it allows us to beat out the residence mentally later on.

Hmmm..sounds good...especially since TWU is just about a 20 min. drive from where I live.
