Hi Everyone!
I am currently working now here in Dubai as a Secretary, but I am a Registered Nurse in the Philippines with a 1 year and 2 months experienced as a Staff Nurse. I came here to Dubai, ofcourse, to pursue my Nursing Career though in the first place, I really knew I had to take HAAD first before I can work here. I did apply online in DHA for the exam but until now it is still on pending. I think, because my experience was not enough, they really accept those applicants with 2 years experienced. I searched and searched hospitals or clinics here hoping to apply for a Staff Nurse or even Nursing Assistant (to gain my experience) but they all prefer HAAD/MOH Licensed. I really want to pursue my career in Nursing, but I am starting to lose hope since I can't really find a way to pursue it here. My least option is to come back to the PHL and take my remaining experience for me to be able to get the remaining months to have 2 years experience. But doing that makes me think of a loss opportunity here since I am already here working but in a different field. Ofcourse, I will not be a hypocrite, but let us face it, working here even only as a secretary has a higher salary than working as a Nurse in the PHL. But on the other hand, I am thinking also that it is what I want and I need to do if I want my Nursing career to continue.
Would you like to suggest what is the best thing for me to do now?

Follow your heart. If you think financially is where you are at now, then continue as a secretary but if you really have a passion for nursing it does not matter. I work as a school nurse and paid pennies in the US but I am working on my doctorate and know that will only be for a while, then I will mover on greener pastures. I heard the compensation is great there. Do you think it is good for nurses? Engineers from my church just left recently to Dubal. Good luck on your journey!
Hi! Financially, this work would really help me. But I still want to work with what I graduated to. I just don't know now which is the good thing to. It is basically like, I am thorn between my passion and on how I will help my family, financially. Hayyy. Yes, compensation is great here. No tax and all. But cost of living is starting to get high. You must have a good salary here that can provide you all the essentials of living. Better yet, find a job that accommodation and transportation are included in the package of your salary. Thanks for your comment! :)
