Hi All,
First let me say even though i just suscribed i have read this post for years and it's given me hope & drive to follow my heart into nursing so to all of you interacting i give an sincere Thanks!
I just relocated to NYC staying in Manhattan with family and kicking myself for not coming sooner i'm very independent but i had to take a step back in order to move forward alot quicker. where i moved from you would think all is well in the nursing field because the only Comm. College at in that area were talking some ppl out of going into Nursing which i thought was odd but they made it very hard in every way possible but never-the-less i'm in Manhattan looking for a free or low cost CNA course so i can work in a hospital but for now i'm going into HHA course.
My question is what is the quickest was to become an R.N & would being a CNA cover the cost of living in NY. I must admit it's offly high but everything you could ever want is here so i guess it balances out. My plan was to apply to Bronx Comm. Coll. since alot of the other LPN courses are full then apply to Hunter College so that way i can find my own place after the 1 1/2 yrs at BCC and not worry about doing alot of overtime as an HHA.
I called some Nursing homes to see if they have free courses but no luck so far. anyone with knowledge how to do these things please let me know it would be an honor to get some feedback.
Thankx:wink2:
