Hi ..There was a male nursing student about 10 years ago who sued

in California because he maintained that since he was not allowed to

perform all of the treatments and examinations as the female students

he would be at a disadvantage. He also contended that female students were not prohibited from performing similar procedures on males. He also contended that no such distiction was made between male and female

student physicians. The court did not find in his favor......Although his

argument seemed to make a lot of sense............However the court looked at the number of men practicing in these areas as graduates and found none.......the court ruled since no men worked in these areas it was not necessary for him to gain experience in these areas.

I thought that he might have included that he would have to take

a Board examination in this area along with the female students and be

graded the same as them that this would be a disadvantage.

I wonder if he were to bring the suit today and appealed it to the looney

10th circuit court in California he might have had a better outcome?:)
