Question about returning to work

I recently got married and my husband works in Kansas City. Before my divorce, I worked for 5 years as a labor/delivery RN in a small hospital in southeast Kansas. I moved to Joplin, Mo. to be near my daughter and her son. During this 2 year period, I've not been working. Now that I've remarried, I will soon be moving to the KC area and would like to go back to work. Does anyone have any idea where would be the best place to look for a similar job? I'm also trained in postpartum and nursery. I've just had a difficult time finding anything. Any opinions on what hospitals are the best or any opinions at all, please let me know. Thanks so much! I would be sooooo grateful for any responses! :bow:

Have you check out St Lukes or Baptist in Kansas City? St Lukes is the Mecca for mother baby. Baptist has a great refresher course. I used to work PP in 82-84 at St Lukes then I joined the Navy Nurse Corps and put immediately in L&D and loved it. I put on my own Fetal scalp leads and set up and monitored (increased it at my own judgement) my own Pit drips under MO (medical officer) orders of course. If you like travel, good money and perks with comrodery with great people, ...GO Navy ....I loved it. :up:

I've lived in KC my whole life. Depends on what part of town you live in, KC is very spread out. St. Lukes has locations all over the city, KU Med Center is close to downtown and is a huge and very good hospital, Shawnee Mission Medical Center is huge, Liberty Hospital up north, Childrens Mercy Hospital, and Truman. Between those I am sure you will find what you are looking for.
