Question about CRNA boards

Hi all. I don't know if this question has been brought up on this thread or not (i tried looking but couldn't seem to find it), or if it's supposed to go in the other CRNA forum, but I was wondering, what are the CRNA boards like??? What is the minimum and maximum amount of questions you can answer? Is it like the NCLEX...well meaning is it computerized? I'm thinking of becoming a CRNA in the near future and was just curious. I took boards in January. It is a computerized exam with a minimum of 90 and the maximum is 160 questions. You can pass or fail anywhere in between. The difficulty of the question you answer is based on the prior question. There are also a certain amount of questions on the exam that are not graded as part of your score. These questions are "practice" questions that may be used on future exams.

The only way this exam is similar to NCLEX is that it is computerized. It was the hardest exam I have ever taken in my life....some questions were easy to answer, some I could narrow down to 2 answers, and some came from outer space!

Thanks for the info!!! Wow 90 minimum and 160 max?? How do you find out if you passed or failed?? Is there a "Quick Results" kind of service like the NCLEX or do they mail you your results only. Thanks again Sprout :)

The only way you find out if you passed is getting your results that are delievered by FedEx. It generally takes at least a couple weeks to get your results back. I got mine back in 20 days back in January.

It was almost 3 weeks of complete torture!

BTW- I had a classmate pass the exam after taking all 160 questions AND I had a classmate who failed them by only taking 90!!

Wow...3 weeks for results?? That would be torture...oh well I'm glad you made it :) Well I'm still a new RN so i'm definitely thinking about going to CRNA school when I get enough experience. I'm alittle nervous about the difficulty of the exam but there are people passing it :) Any idea what the national passing rate is? :)
