Hi! I was asked to assume the role of Nursing Quality Improvement Coordinator in our hospital. I'm interested in obtaining a certificate in QI management. Thanks.

Well, definitely join NAHQ! Then join your local association.

The California association has a great review course on quality concepts and management. It's a great way to network and learn and perhaps study for your CPHQ.

If your hospital is really interested in this position and CQI, they will pay for this course and travel:

There are other course out there, but I've heard great things about this particular course.

Good luck and Congratulations!!!

Does anyone else know of QI/QA courses or certification in other states? New York?

can someone tell me if there is any QI review courses at East coast/ New York? Please.

NAHQ offers a handbook to prepare for the CPHQ. I know there is also a 'boot camp' style review held at their yearly conference where you could also sit for the exam. All are pretty pricey ( $200 starting cost) but if your facility is serious about supporting your goal they will offer at least partial funding.

Good luck!
