  1. Sigh, I was hoping this was not the case, but I am prepared to buy the materials I need to be prepared. I plan on prepping for it once this semester is over. When you say they asked for exact dates, do you mean common dates (e.g. dates of battles, wars, treaty signings, etc.) or like random dates that are rarely mentioned?
  2. I just sent a request to be in the fb group!
  3. Oh I knew that we didn't have to take it by the start of the program; but since I will be paying tuition out of pocket, I figured it couldn't hurt to take a chance at the exam so that I could save some money and some time!
  4. Have any of you guys taken (or know someone that has taken) the USG Legislative Requirement Exam? I want to take the US/Georgia History exam for the HIST 2111/2112 requirement, but I don't know what materials I need to study. On the website it says any college level US History textbook, but I would rather not read an entire textbook for a single exam. Would an AP US History Study Guide (like Princeton Review) cover most of the information I would need to know? I would like to exempt the HIST 2111/2112 class instead of paying to take it this summer! Any information would be helpful!
  5. I got in too for the traditional track! Super excited, but I have an exam in an hour so now I can focus on that! Good luck you guys!
  6. Oh that's lovely! I know I'm being impatient but I hate not knowing what decisions I need to start making when deadlines are on my heels lol! Hopefully we all get good news!
  7. If you are need based, they offer grants, work study and loans (all of which I received as well since my cost of attending is more than my EFC). I believe that their line of thinking is that whatever they don't give you, you can get in private loans. I'd really encourage you to visit some of the recent emory nursing forums or get in contact with the financial aid office if you want to see what kind of money they'll be offering. I can only speak from my experience and the others I've talked to when I say don't expect more than half the tuition (and that is being extremely generous as I have not heard of anyone getting that much). You could also lower your cost of attending by applying for need-based scholarships that are not through the school if you are eligible for those! Outside scholarships seem like the ticket to making the out of pocket cost reasonable!
  8. Yes the Nurse Corps scholarship is such a great opportunity for those that are considered to be financially in need! I'm only 20, my parents still claim me as dependent, and they make too much money for me to even be seriously considered for the scholarship. My EFC is much too high, and I haven't heard of anyone with above a 0 EFC getting the scholarship. But definitely look into the program if you meet the criteria and think you have a good shot of getting it!
  9. ^ This is the truth. I got a merit scholarship, grants, and federal loans that all totaled to about $5k per semester which is literally nothing compared to the price of the tuition ($20k+/semester) let alone staying in Atlanta. If you are looking for the financial aid to make it a more feasible option, I can honestly tell you not to hold your breath. I gave up my spot as soon as I was admitted to UNG's nursing program because I literally couldn't fathom having to take out $60k+ in loans to pay solely for tuition for a BSN lol.
  10. Lol well if you recently submitted it, just give them a little time! If money is no option it is a great school and they have a pretty campus :). They just didn't offer me enough aid and the amount of private loans I'd have to take out wasn't worth it.
  11. I applied before October 15 and heard back I think between the 18th and 25th! Emory has rolling admission so it really is dependent on when they get to your application! Also, I applied for the accelerated track, so idk if the traditional is any different as far as the application process goes.
  12. That is what I'm thinking (which is actually concerning considering we only submit our stats, but some people with good stats don't get in). However, I also applied to Emory and got in there, but they also had over 1000 applicants this cycle, and I had to send more information to them than I had to send to Kennesaw... I truly don't understand Kennesaw's application/review/decision process, and they aren't very transparent about it either.
  13. Awe, well that's unfortunate... I have to give another school I got accepted to a deposit to secure my seat by April 1st, so I'll have to pay that if they don't send them out earlier . Why is Kennesaw so slow to give decisions?!
  14. But don't they send out e-mails with your decision before the physical letter?
