I may be late. I went to Inter. Received my Bsn. Clinicals were weekly. But its a fast learning pace. Lots of quick learning and youtube. This program is defintaley fast and alot of self teaching involved. PR is its own world and everything and i mean EVERYTHING island time. You will meet great people but patience is def needed for this program and living in pr in general. If you can learn basic spanish you will be fine. Study smart and hard, ask questions, respect your professors and youll do fine. This is pr. Keep expectations low. But at the same time- do your best and go above and beyond for yourself.

No i have not taken it a second time i have reeeeeally taken my time. I completed ncsbn back in Dec. since then I have been doing Lippincott Q&A. ( its over 4000 questions) my average is a 60% right now Im still nervous and havent signed up yet

What were your average scores if you don't mind me asking?

Ok so my Nclex is in 2.5 weeks... I am looking to see if I am going about this better then I did the first time as I am getting more nervous. I failed the first time around back in September. I think it mainly had to do with my lack of content and NOT being familiar with NCLEX style questions. Anyone who has taken the exam knows what I am talking about. The nclex can be very tricky and confusing in the way they ask the question so you have to ensure your study material can closely resemble the level of difficulty. I also became so tired and anxiety ridden it came to a point where I "just want this to be over with". This mindframe was not healthy and i think, impacted my performance. My first attempt I used Kaplan, Saunders and it did not work for me. To much focus on strategy. This second go round. I utilized Hurst Content review. My scores are: 58, 61, 71, 60. I never attained that 80% that they want you to get unfortunatley. I mainly focused on NCSBN for their 5 week program. The content was a little overwhelming but after reviewing Hurst all I did was a quick read through and brushed up on more detailed topics Hurst did not go over. I took their qbank and my averages were 50-80%. (only a few 80's) To me, NCSBN questions resemble NCLEX questions very closely. I highly recommend NCSBN, its not heavily marketed like Hurst/Kaplan and isn't as flashy but the questions are excellent. I feel this helped me get more comfortable with the level of difficulty of NCLEX type questions. I finished NCSBN and reviewed Lacharity PDA book and my averages were 60-75%. I did pretty well with the review. Now I will review Hurst Content AGAIN and attempt a free week trail of Uworld. With all this being said, I would appreciate any insight, tips, advice, encouragement or stories on repeat test takers. What worked for you? etc? Thankyou so much

No i did not pass. I realized that i didn't practice enough NCLEX STYLE questions. When I sat for the nclex I wasn't too nervous but became frustrated cause I did not prepare myself for the question type. World is great for those lacking in content and want to improve on content based questions. But for NCLEX style it did not work for me. I am doing NCSBN for the questions type and a little kaplan for extra question help from Quizlet along with some content refresher. Hopefully the 2nd time i pass! :)

I will definitely wait for my results and see me weak areas. i am thinking about doing NCSBN and a month Kaplan bank to study. Based on my experience i need help with strategy when it comes to the nclex. thanks everyone for their input

So I did fail. Got my results a few hours ago. I did hurst and Uworld. my avg was a 50% with Uworld. Its crazy..some of my friends told me to brush up on content on my weak point but to do the Kaplan qbank for the next month.( cause the questions/answers are more like nclex) I don't have the money to invest in a 300$ plus, course. * What I noticed on "my" nclex was that it wasn't the questions that were hard to comprehend, it was the answers provided. They were very vague and similar which didn't help very much when it came down to ABC'S or process of elimination.. I really struggled. Anyone have any luck with failing and switching up their study plan and becoming successful the second time.' Or any tips in general would be appreciated :)

I took my exam Yesterday. Shut off at 76 and all i got were multiple choice and SATA. a couple meds. I honestly felt like I was swimming in the dark. The questions were not difficult to comprehend but the answers were so vague and similar. I felt like I was guessing. I wasn't prepared for that. Nclex knows what they are doing. They do not play into popular diseases and or signs and symptoms that they know students will know. Its all random. Im pretty sure I failed. I am hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I studied ALOT. Two months. My results are on hold right now so no Pearson Vue trick for me.**** I used Hurst and Uworld (avg 50%), little nclex mastery. Any positive vibes would be appreciated. :)

Thankyou for taking the time to provide feed back. I found some free Qbank kaplan questions on quizlet and knocked out 300 of those in 2 days. Both my averages were 67%. But i found that the Kaplan questions were definitely easier then Uworld. Maybe it was the format on quizlet, i don't know ---but from what I did they were definitely easier. Don't know if thats a good thing. :)

I test in a week. I am beyond nervous.. I have been using UWORLD for the last month and my avg is a 50%. I reviewed Hurst for a month to get the basic content down. My average scores for their bank was 60% For Uworld, I have been reading the rationales carefully and even writing notes and trying to reread them. I also was told to try to go back and retake some Uworld quizzes to see if I retained information and see if my score gets higher. Obviously one might remember the answer but to really try to understand why the correct answer is what it is. Anyone have any experience with this source and what your average scores were? If you combined any other sources? Or any tips in general. I am just trying to get the endless amount of information to stick. I am so nervous for for the NCLEX and I don't want to fail.

Im having some major confidence problems. First and foremost I went to accelerated Nursing school so all my information I accumulated went by very fast and t was hard to dive in topics full force. Some may be able to relate. My main problems are my Test scores. I don't feel comfortable at all. I purchased Hurst Review. Watched all the videos, took notes and reviewed the entire packet almost 3 times plus reviewed a condensed version of the content, on Quizlet (flashcards). My scores ranged from 50-57%. I also purchased Uworld. UWorld is fairly new but heard great things about the software. The questions are indeed hard and the rationales are awesome.My scores range from a 34%-50%. (Avg is 60%). *I still have over 1000 questions to go....it expires sept 20th. I am weak in pharm and am currently trying to review and brush up on basics. I don't really know what more or else I can do. I have three weeks until my exam. I do 100 questions a day and pretty much get a 50% every time. Drives me CRAZY! Anyone have any tips or anyone who has been in my shoes? I have milked myself dry financially between study materials, the licensing process along with the nclex fee. PLEASE HELP?!?!?!
