  1. "First with volunteering as a candy striper at my local hospital and then completing the CNA and Medical Assisting program while in high school." This is not a complete sentence. Maybe use something like, "I began by volunteering as a candy striper and then completed.." Possess, not process. "I believe that I already process a few of the skills need to be a licensed practical nurse, I am empathetic, patient, flexible, a multi-tasker and have a passion to care for others." First, need should be needed. Second, "I believe that I already [possess] a few of the skills [needed] to be a licensed practical nurse" and "I am empathetic..." are standalone sentences. Use a period in between to separate them. Your last sentence should be "I will be able to fulfill..." Also, you are not using consistent capitalization for licensed practical nurse throughout. From what I understand, licensed practical nurse should not be capitalized at all, unless licensed comes at the beginning of a sentence OR you're using the abbreviation.
  2. Hello, everyone. I'm enrolled to take A&P I&II over the summer. Each session is 4 weeks long. I've read through previous threads for tips/tricks for learning and understanding the information in such a short time frame. Many have suggested purchasing A&P flashcards. Does anyone recommend a particular brand/set? I've had a look on Amazon, and there are just so many options.
  3. It sounds like they were trying to prepare you for a career in nursing, actually. I'm not a nurse yet, but I do work in a hospital alongside nurses. They don't get to just skip a day if the weather is bad. They have to show up because lives depend on them coming in and being ready to work, regardless of the weather. Same goes for if a nurse isn't feeling great. To me, it isn't "stupidity"--it's preparing me for situations I'll actually face as a nurse.
  4. It's very likely they do. I, however, wouldn't want to put all my hopes into them bending rules for me only to be disappointed when they don't.
  5. I've never been in a CNA program, so I can't speak to that. Are you working part-time/full-time? Do you have children? I think it comes down how many commitments you have overall and your ability to grasp the material.
