New Nurse Time Management
I feel like I get behind because of charting. I can do my med pass and assessments fine. Although I do feel I could speed that up. But then the charting puts me behind. And even at that I could probably handle it but then throw in admits and discharges and all the calls you get and the morning meetings and theven random things that come up like a pt who needs your attention immediately... after all that, I just can't get back on the ball.

New Nurse Time Management
Hi all. I am a new nurse in a residency program. I am 5 weeks into it on a hectic floor. I am still with a preceptor for 10 more weeks so I know I have time to learn but I am starting to get worried that my time management skills won't develop fast enough before I have to be on my own. I am quite overwhelmed and get so behind. Any tips for time management and juggling 5 patients on a med surg floor?

Just took the nclex
Thanks everyone. 24 hours later and still the good pop up so continuing to pray and anxiously waiting official results.

Just took the nclex
I think what has me most concerned is that the questions I was getting didn't seem like higher level questions. They seemed like basic knowledge recall and that had me so worried. Some people say it's because Kaplan and uworld are so hard that these seem like lower level questions but I'm not sure.

Good luck! I really hope we pass as well. This is an awful waiting process. I'm so anxious and as I try to sleep all I can think of are all the questions that seemed like such low level questions and then I feel there is no way I could have passed. Just praying now!

Thank you for responding. I know everyone walks out feeling like they failed but I just feel like "no one could feel like they knew less than me in there" I really studied and prepped too. I did ALL of Kaplan, Hurst, and some of Uworld. But I just felt like I was taking the test in French or something. I tried the PVT and got the good pop up but that hasn't really eased my fears at all.

Just took the nclex
I just finished the nclex with 75 questions and I feel like I knew nothing. I don't see how it is possible that I passed. The questions didn't seem like higher level questions at all. I got about 13 sata. I'm freaking out.

NCLEX in 5 days
Hi all! I am so extremely nervous to test in 5 days. I am doing my best to do questions to keep my exposure high until then and plan on taking the day before off. The morning of I think I will just do a few questions to get my brain in the zone. I am so nervous though and I was wondering if you all have some tips to stay calm during NCLEX. I am afraid that when I get in there I will start second guessing myself or that I will start thinking differently from all the anxiety. I hope I am well prepared. I have done pretty much all of kaplan and got a 68% on my readiness 2 days ago. I have also done Hurst, a little bit of NCLEX Mastery and I am now just doing Uworld until I test (most recent score on there was a 60 but mostly focusing on reading the rationales) Thanks all for your advice and encouragement!

NCLEX-RN
Hi everyone, I have two questions. First, I take the NCLEX in a week and a half and I am located in CA which does not have the option for quick results. So I would like to try the pop up (although I've heard it is not always accurate) My question is how long to I have to wait after leaving the NCLEX to try this? Second, for those of you who have taken Kaplan, do you feel it is easier/harder/or the same as the NCLEX. I find it very challenging and my scores are inconsistent. I am almost finished with all Kaplan recourses, I am using the Saunders book, and have done Hurst and am re-reviewing it. Despite all of that I still feel like I am not sure if I am ready. I can not push my date out though because I have a great job waiting for me and I need to test asap to be able to start this job. Thanks for your responses friends!

Nursing student survival kit
As we all know, your nursing school friends can become family throughout the roller coaster ride together. In the spirit of Christmas (and just because I don't know what I'd do without those few nursing friends who are always there) I wanted to make a nursing student survival kit to begin second semester with. Any cute ideas and "rationales"? Or suggestions of what you would like to see in your survival kit?!

What is your watch preference?
Nursing student here! Just wondering what those of you with more clinical experience prefer for your watch. Wrist watch? Lapel watch? Military time on it? Glow in the dark? Etc... And since scrubs aren't always the most stylish things in the world, are there any sites for practical watches you use to add a little flare and style? Thanks for the input guys :)
