  1. Awe thank you! I wish you the best. Overall spcc may be a better fit for me overall. I know everything happens for a reason and I have to trust that!
  2. Thanks I really appreciate it! I had already been accepted into the nursing program at spcc (south piedmont community college) but ran into some financial issues with some community colleges not accepting te federal loan program. I rushed and took the act test and applied to cchs as a backup option. I have already taken all nursing prerequisites and have a 3.75 gpa. I made a 68 on my teas test and a 22 composite on my act. I also went to Umanah healthcare and have nothing but great things to say about it. So since I didn't make the cchs cut I'm moving forward with spcc in august. As for the financial concerns if it weren't for my family helping I wouldn't be able to swing it. I'm just glad I finally have some direction.
  3. I know it really is very competitive but I guess when you're the best you are allowed to be. I'll be starting the program at SPCC this fall so now I know which way to go. :) we will all make it if we are determined enough :)
  4. Thank you for posting this. I just looked at my page and was denied admission. Oh well on to plan b. Best of luck to you.
  5. I know! I'm really nervous and have been waiting for this day for over 3 months! Either way good luck to you all :)
  6. I actually called the school and my contact said we shoul receive emails of our status on Wednesday. I wish they would hurry up :)
  7. I would say that it's very competitive to get a job at cmc if you haven't gone thru their program for studies. They do offer tuition reimbursement for working there so many of the jobs are given to grads from what I've heard. Try looking at novant health those are the major players in clt. Expand your search for cmc and novant for a few surrounding areas. Look at union co or cabarrus co on google map those aren't too far from clt and could help with your search :) good luck to you!
  8. Agree with above statement about direct loans. Seems my school as well SPCC doesn't ofer them either. Acceptance elation turned into serious doubt if I can make it financially. Hopefully not the case for you! Good luck!
  9. hey girl make sure u check out the recent article on wdav online about Cpcc no longer offering direct college loans. May not be a deal breaker for you but it is turning out to be quite the adventure for me it's called Cpcc students won't be able to take out direct federal loans...good luck
  10. Hey Everyone - Just received my letter of acceptance into the ADN program at SPCC for Fall 2014. Super excited but super nervous about how financially it's all going to pan out. I have a great job full-time but obviously will not be able to keep that. Noticed the school doesn't participate in the Direct Loan program, so looking at a private lender etc. for funding I assume? Any advice would be helpful. I've done my FAFSA and my financial situation is going to be changing once I start the program. Thanks everyone :)
