  1. * oops, they got offers from MICU and ER, not SICU
  2. I think most hospitals here prefer BSN and you probably have a leg up if you've been a tech somewhere, but I've had a couple of people in my cohort get offers from Parkland SICU and ER with no experience. I don't have experience and my previous degree is in engineering. The only 'inside' info I have is that Parkland requires a 3-year commitment. Some people are put off by this but I don't mind. I'm graduating in 7 days with a BSN, 3.84 GPA, and no hospital work experience whatsoever.
  3. I interviewed with burn also and am waiting. Please post if/when you hear something. Do you know how many positions they have?
  4. @tlacey12 If you're talking about the AP BSN, the program is designed to be completed in 15 months (4 semesters, including a summer). Everyone in your cohort takes the same classes during each semester.
  5. @gbfuturenurse Did my background check 5/28. Got my blue postcard 6/19.
  6. They also offer all of their required science pre-reqs (with labs) online.
  7. True. Clinicals aren't online. They have partner hospitals in DFW area and Houston area. But the classes are online. I was just trying to name a BSN vs RN-BSN online program.
  8. University of Texas at Arlington AP BSN. I start this fall!
  9. Does your driving record show active warrants?
  10. BB Orientation is up for Off-Campus!
  11. BB Orientation is up. Yay!
  12. I haven't heard anything. Hoping they'll open it Monday. The crickets are chirping...
  13. I had this same attitude when I got my bachelors in engineering. Those same C's came back to haunt me when applying for nursing school. I plan on furthering my studies after I get my BSN next December, so C's won't cut it for me anymore. Be careful about being lackadaisical about grades because you just might wish you hadn't been later on down the road. Your children are very important though, not arguing that! :)
  14. I haven't received my Fast Fingerprint Pass form yet. I emailed the UTA CON on Friday and they said they haven't heard back from the Texas BON yet.
  15. Or maybe you'll have to do it if and when you get called off the waitlist... Maybe they don't want you to have to pay for anything until you've been accepted... That also makes sense. I tend to over-analyze.
  16. oops, sorry utabsnhopeful. I didn't see your post from before. Well, now that we got that straightened out... The applicants who were accepted also had to go to the GroupOne website and pay for a background check. The only thing that makes sense to me about why you guys don't have to do it, is it may be a quick and dirty method of weeding out the bad seeds since the BON background check takes so long. Maybe they have us do this so they can have plenty of time to call people off the waitlist.
  17. Ok good, because I haven't either. I think you may have put your social security number anddate of birth on your waitlist confirmation letter (this was info for the BON to do their thing). Does that sound right?
  18. Does that attachment talk about the Fast Fingerprint Pass form?
  19. Oh. That's weird. So the BON background check was a separate document/form from the confirmation letter you had to sign?
  20. Wow, we should compare notes. Did you have a table of due dates in your letter?
  21. Are you talking about the GroupOne or the Texas BON background check?
  22. I'm one of those people who has to take patho this summer. Just finished Pharm a couple of weeks ago. Everything you just said is true though. Some people don't pass background checks. I've read on these forums where someone had a shoplifting charge, another had a DUI. I'm sure you have a pretty good chance.
  23. That sounds promising for the waitlisted people. Good luck to you!
  24. Did she go into detail at all about the ranking process?
