If I don't get this job, I'm done.
Thanks! I will be in the same boat as you if I don't get this job. In fact I've already started applying to a few retail places, even though I told myself I would never work retail again in my life .I also need money for textbooks :)

If I don't get this job, I'm done.
My aunt's a nurse and said the same thing. She said a lot of people go into it thinking the job market for nursing is booming, and the reality is it's just like any other career or job.

Cna background checks for work?
Second job meaning, I worked it as a part time job along with my full time job, not my 2nd job ever.

Cna background checks for work?
I saw your first msg and actually did call them and tell them, I told them that since I worked there for such a short time, and it was actually a 2nd job, I didn't have room for it on my application. They said it wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the advice, sorry meant to tell you that earlier!

I know the difference between a suggestion and a snarky comment, and what she said was a snarky comment.

Thanks, it's just frustrating.

If I don't get this job, I'm done.
Also, out of all the places I've applied to, only two have actually met me in person, or actually called me. The second place is the one I'm going through the interview process with.

If I don't get this job, I'm done.
Sometimes people just reach their limit, and I've reached mine, so next time don't jump to conclusions. I've been looking for 5 months, and I'm done if I don't get this. It's a difficult job, but it's not rocket science.

You're not cute or funny, my attitude is fine when I go on job interviews. This is suppose to be an anonymous board where you can post your thoughts and feelings, and I expressed my frustrations about job hunting, so don't judge me

If I don't get this job, I'm done.
Hopefully I get this job I've interviewed at 3 times because if not I'm done trying to be a cna. This is complete crap, I'm not applying to work for NASA, it's a cna job, it doesn't take a Master's degree to do it. Also every place that didn't hire me can kiss my butt. Sick of this crap.

Cna background checks for work?
That makes me so nervous. Just the way they talk about it, they make it seem like they go through your whole life. I left out that I worked at Mcdonald's for 3 months on my application, would something like that prevent me from getting hired? I got called in for a third interview, and this one I believe they do the background and drug test, not worried about the drug test, but I am worried about the background.

Anyone ever worked for sunrise assisted living?
Thanks, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's a beautiful facility, as are most nursing homes.

Anyone ever worked for sunrise assisted living?
I thought this place had turned me down, so I was shocked to get a call from them.

Anyone ever worked for sunrise assisted living?
I did a group interview a few weeks ago, and they called me to come in and shadow an employee. I still haven't done drug test or background check, just wondering how long it takes for them to do the hiring process? I read somewhere it takes two months, is that about normal for most places?

How long did it take for some of you to find a job after you passed the state exam?
Thanks! I haven't thought about rehab places.

How long did it take for some of you to find a job after you passed the state exam?
I don't know maybe it's the way I'm filling out applications, or my resume needs work.

How long did it take for some of you to find a job after you passed the state exam?
I live in Colorado near Littleton, which is a suburb of Denver. I've applied in both Littleton, Denver, Englewood, Centennial. The only problem I have is no car, so I do have to take a places location as far as bus availability into consideration. So I just don't apply to those places. I don't know anyone that works in a nursing home, and the place I did my clinicals at won't work, it's way too far away.

I passed back in February, and so far I've put out tons of apps, online and in person, and have only gotten one interview. They selected someone else for that job, she had more experience. I've tried calling several places back, one place I've called twice and still haven't heard anything, I'm giving up on that place. I've said I will prn, part-time, any available shift just to get my foot in the door. I hate coming off sounding desperate, but it's getting really frustrating.

What do you recommend is a good time or day to go apply at a nursing home?
I'm starting to learn that going to the facility is the best way to go. So far I've been doing more online apps, and I think my resume gets lost in the shuffle, also I think a lot of places here in Colorado want people to come in and apply to make sure the applicant can read and write English, and isn't having someone else do it for them. Thanks everyone for your help!

What do you recommend is a good time or day to go apply at a nursing home?
I know other businesses such as retail, it's not a good idea to go on the weekends since they're so busy during those times, and offices it's better to go on Monday vs going on Friday right before they close. Is there a good time to go into a nursing home to apply, and a certain time to avoid? Obviously I know you shouldn't go in at Tuesday at 3 am.

Interview!!!!
Way to go!

The resident with no family.
I actually have 3 garbage bags full of clothes from when I cleaned out my closet and dressers, and was thinking of donating them to a homeless shelter, but after I saw your post I was thinking of doing a nursing home and homeless shelter. Do I just walk in with a bag of clothes or is their an agency I need to go through?
