  1. I appreciate everyone's response. I guess I need to be more grateful for getting excepted to one of the great schools in my community.
  2. I was wondering if hospitals really take into consideration the nursing school you graduate from. Does anybody know how true this is?
  3. I am from Houston too. What semester are you in?
  4. Houston, Tx!
  5. . I was browsing the Internet for O.R internships after receiving your reply. I haven't had any look finding O.R internships in Houston,TX. Thank you for replying!

  7. I need advice! I will be graduating August 2013. I really love the O.R and would like to work there as soon I get out of school.I was wondering if i should strictly put in my application for O.R nursing, or do I need to get Med surge experience before I can become an O.R nurse. I would like to continue my education as an O.R nurse, ultimately I want to obtain a RN first assistant certification.
  8. Thanks. I live in Houston, Tx. I also want to do it for the experience, but you right nursing school should come first. I am going to look into the new grad programs that are offered in the med center.
  9. I am a nursing student; I will be graduating in August 2013 with a BSN. I have no previous hospital experience. However, I have about 6 years of customer service experience. My concern as a a new grad is that I feel that it may be difficult for me to get a job, because I don't have hospital experience. My plan is to hopefully get a job as a tech in a hospital prior to graduating, and hopefully I am allowed to only work 12-20hrs a month. I really don't want to do this, because I feel that will interfere with my school work. As it is, I barely have time for myself. Any thoughts?
  10. I am a 3rd semester nursing student; I will be graduating with a BSN in August. I had a wonderful experience today in the O.R. I certainly want to work in the O.R, I noticed people assisting the doctor with surgery; I found out that they were first assistant. What exactly is a first assistant? How much additional education do I need? ! Thank you in advance!
