Hello! I know there are several topics on this issue but I couldn't find one that pertained specifically. I currently hold an RN license in PA. I live in NJ within 10 miles of the border (08077). i applied for endorsement for NJ license on 11/08. My question is, do I need to do anything about fingerprints? I believe I paid for them and they get sent in the mail correct? I called them yesterday and they said my application is still going through verification and when I asked if the fingerprint stuff got mailed they said I have to be verified before they are mailed out...? heres my current checklist....it just feels like 5 weeks is a long time for nothing to be checked off. Just passing through here. The topic post got me and I was hooked (is this real life?). I skimmed through the thread and my goodness this girl sounds like she is a sophomore in high school, it's insane. God bless you all for trying to give this girl advice but a tiger can change it's stripes, especially not one who thinks she's better than the rest. Such a shame some poor girl was wait-listed because a spot was wasted on her..

The school is in willow grove pa. The school is called abington memorial hospital dixon school of nursing. Google it and you will find their website. Best of luck! :)

I got waitlisted for the 4th time for bcc but got accepted to abington (first choice)!

I went and got my scrubs today! If you go to the store the tops take 1-2 days to get the patches put on and can be picked up or mailed ($5 shipping). I also got a pen light and the watch there.

NeseNew, -congrats!!! I spoke with Angela and she said they will be mailing out the enrollment task information the beginning of April!

The Facebook page sounds like a good idea.

My advice would look at the nclex pass rate. A friend of mine went to gmc and ended up failing a nursing class, go discouraged and switched majors.

I paid the 250 today, I'm so anxious to start getting all my supplies and uniforms!

I got my acceptance packet today with the schedule and all. What's the day schedule like? I'm gonna send in my seat payment today...$250 but it's worth it :) can't wait to get the packet on all the other things.

I've heard of people getting in without an interview, but I don't think an interview is necessarily a bad thing. Good luck to those with interviews coming up!

I got into the evening/weekend program!!! I'm super excited. I got my financial aid forms in the mail today and it says we look forward to seeing you in fall 2014. No acceptance letter came yet! I was so confused when I received a large envelope from abingtons financial aid office lol but I'm so happy!

I have been going to BCC since 2007, I must say I heard great things about the nursing program but advising isn't much help. Your best bet would be to go to pemberton campus and speak with them and complete all your prerequisites and apply to other nursing programs as well to increase your chances. I applied to temple and abington for fall 2014. CCC has a good program as well as aria in philadelphia. Other colleges to consider if you have the money are drexel and lasalle. I know lasalle has a prerequisite of nursing and some college require you to have chemistry as well. I took most of my science courses at ocean county college online and they all transfered, plus chemistry didn't require algebra as a prereq as BCC does. Best of luck.

Hey Heatherlee, I'm sorry for the delayed response, I just saw your post. I was waitlisted for bcc the last two times. I applied at BCC for fall 14 still waiting to hear about that. But either way I no longer qualify for financial aid there so I can no longer go there :/. How are things going for you?

Thanks again! How do you know all this stuff about financial aid and grants, it's impressive! I just started getting grants this past semester, I found a community college that is 1200 which includes everything. It's just a matter of seeing if I can switch my days off to weekends or if I get accepted to a program. When I went to my interview they suggested getting some hands on by volunteering but there isn't much in the area besides doing desk work :/. Do you thing spending the time and money is worth it if I am on the way to starting nursing this year or next?

Thank you for the information. I was referring to the Red Cross in philadelphia which is 15 mins from me. Sorry for the confusion. As for financial aid, I do not require much because I am an independent student living on a part time salary (less than 20,000) and I get grants that cover most if not part of my tuition currently.

Hello! I have been searching these boards for a week now and still cannot find a CNA program in the south jersey/philadelphia area that is flexible and under 1400. I called about 10 LTC facilities and none offer training. I was interested in the Red Cross training but have emailed and called several times with no reply. Does anyone know what the schedule is like (hours) and if financial aid is available? Any input would help. I am currently waiting for a letter from 3 rn and bsn programs and would like to get some experience before I begin in august or if I am waitlisted or denied (fingers crossed). If anyone knows of any places that will hire a nursing assistant without certification that would also help. Thanks! :)

@jazzie093 Today is 3 days from my interview! I keep stalking my email haha it's all I can think about! What time did you receive an email? I tried calling AngelaD and it goes straight to voicemail, I'm guessing because she's interviewing today.

@jazzie093 I recalculated my gpa turns out I have a 3.3 I have over 100 college credits and had nothing lower than a c ever. Were you on early decision? Good luck on the interview! Keep us posted

I have all but chem and the lab which starts this Wednesday. This pass semester I got a 4.0 so my gpa is about a 3.7-3.8 I believe. I'd have to calculate it because I went to two different schools. But they said they were impressed by my grades. My teas score was only 65 though :/ the waiting is driving me crazy lol.
