fafsa help
Thank you everyone for the help and the advice. I can't believe some of the hoops that need to be jumped through to get some help. This is my first time getting financial aid. Everything else I paid upfront and that was before the age of 24. .. I have it all filled out and I think I am ready to go. Just nervous. Thank you again for the tips, advice and the help! CT Pixie- I think you did a better job than the financial aid meeting I had to go to!!! Thank you everyone!

Scholarships
Thank you. They didn't really offer scholarship counseling... I wanted to apply to some before my appointment with the Financial Aid counselor. But I am just having a tough time finding anything. Thank you for your response though! No one seems to like me too much on here.

Scholarships
I have been accepted into the nursing program I was trying to get into. I am so thrilled to be joining a workforce of people that I truly admire and I look forward to every second of it. I have been looking up different scholarships and I have been running into a deadline problem. I found out I was accepted on May 30th. I just had my financial aid meeting on the 13th. I know am running into the problem of not being able to find a scholarship that has a deadline I can make. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this? Some background on me. I am 27 years old. I was married into the military and while deployed he found someone else to occupy his time. On top of being verbally and mentally abusive before he left for Afghanistan he then dissolved our marriage while he was still on deployment. I moved home with my parents and battled depression and alcoholism. I am proud to say that I entered therapy for 2 years and have made a full recovery. I now am happy and actually love myself compared to what I used to think of me. I have a wonderful job as a personnel coordinator for a home care company. I wonderful man in my life that supports everything I do and am attempting to accomplish. I beat alcoholism and no longer drink. It has been a long road and a lot of pain but I have come through everything beautifully and feel back to my old self again. I have made great strides in my life to get to where I am. I am hoping I can find some sort of financial assistance but I am unsure of what opportunities are available. I am unsure if what I have gone through could be a possible opportunity for scholarship or how to go about any of it really. Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

fafsa help
Haha. It did seem really silly. After I was divorced they helped me slightly by giving me a roof over my head but I pay rent and do a lot around the house to help them. So I have been financially independent for some time. I ended up not putting them on there. It seemed like it wasn't the right thing to do. Thank you for the comment!

fafsa help
Yes. That's what i had figured too. It says even if you're independent to put their info down. I just have been trying to decide which way is better to go. Thank you very much for responding!! :)

fafsa help
Why does the fafsa form suggest to put your parents information for nursing or health professions? I got accepted to the program and want to make sure I do it right! Thank you in advance for any answers provided! :)

Shawsheen Valley Tech/LPN program
Just wondering if anyone has gone through the interview process for this program. I just passed the entrance exam for the program but now need to go through an interview and take two more tests. One is the Math for Nurses test and the second is the Stanford reading comprehension tests. Does anyone know where I can get some practice tests so I can practice before my interview? I struggle in math a little although I did surprisingly well on the entrance exam. I just would like some practice before I go for it. Also, if anyone has gone through the process for this, or any, LPN school and has any advice I would love to hear it. I tend to over think which is both a strength and a weakness for me. I am usually overly prepared and ready for just about anything... But I feel so shaky on what to expect during the interview. Thank you in advance for any responses. It means a lot. I had a time frame where I destroyed my life and now I have taken it back completely. It is important to me and I truly appreciate any effort to help me reach my goals.
