Actually I'm a seasoned Traveler and I was submitted by both companies. It was a random case I know. But thanks for the advice! I'll just stick to what I signed. No need to cause stress for anyone-

My question is can I back out of a contract once it is signed? I have not started my assignment yet. Are there penalties for doing so?

I am getting ready to start an assignment and have signed my contract. I just found out that another company is paying way more money for the same job. Can I switch companies or do I have to work with the company since I already signed the contract?

Anyone heard of Supplemental or HRN travel companies? They seem to have an abundance of jobs but I don't know if they are good companies to work for. Any insight would be appreciated.

you need to travel nurse!! I was in a relationship when I started and we recently broke up, he could not handle the distance between us...Some people just can't handle the distance..it's a great experience and we learn so much as travelers!! Totally do it!!

If you make a verbal agreement with a hospital and then decide not to work there because it is apparently an awful place to work, can you be banned from all HCA facilities??????

I am getting ready to start my first travel nurse job (Yeah!!!)..it seriously took long enough!! They are asking for titers from vaccinations??? Has anyone had to do that for facilities before? I thought getting your vaccinations was enough?? NO?

I am so glad someone posted a comment on this topic!! I thought it was just me. I quit my job to start travel nursing only to find out that jobs are so scarce!!! I have been waiting around for a job for like a month and a half!! I hope that is gets better and that the market will pick up! I thought I would be able to have my pick of all kinds of places...boy was I wrong

I am getting a contract that is 34/hr with per diem work in Las Vegas at 5 hospitals. They do not take care of housing or anything else. It is just per diem. Is this a good deal for a first assignment? Thanks.

Truckee... Thanks for your help. I am a med surg nurse with 5 years experience. I am working with three companies right now..and let me tell you I know all about highway hypodermics. I feel like I did so much research to narrow it down to three companies (Valley, Flexcare and Freedom) but I have not been able to get a job in about a month! That seems kind of crazy to me. All of these companies seem great though and the recruiters and really nice, but I need a job now. I have excellent references and good job skills, so not sure what is the problem. I would like to go to major cities (Austin, Las Vegas, Boston, etc.) just not California yet. I really don't have any must haves at this point, except I must have a job:nurse:. I will try other companies I suppose.

Can someone suggest a good first time traveler company? I'm really having a hard time getting a first assignment. Thanks.

I am interested in working in any of the compact states and not so much west coast. Right now I am signed up with flexcare, freedom healthcare and valley healthcare and as I said no job for three weeks. They all seem great but at this point I need to work:) does cross country provide free housing? Thanks
