  1. Will we receive a w-2 since we have to claim it as income? Thanks
  2. We are so Blessed:)
  3. That's really great you get a decrease in interest!
  4. My income tax withholding is a lot more than my pay check but I am still grateful!! I haven't heard anything about the webinar either.
  5. Thank you for the information!!!
  6. Thank you for the information!
  7. I think where the confusion lies is that some people's first deposit was double-one for the current month and one for the previous month. One of my papers said that the first payment would be in approximately 30 days and may include one month retroactive.
  8. I received one payment also. I was wondering if this means we will be obligated an extra month or be short one month of payment. I've called so many times that I'm afraid to call again!
  9. Me too! My other problem is that I am having a hard time being happy about the help knowing there are others out there in the same financial mess as me and didn't receive it this year.
  10. Nothing here either:( Contract signed 9/11
  11. Me too! That's why I was trying to hint for you to do it! LOL
  12. Oh well, what's another month after waiting since Feb!!! (still disappointed thought:() By the way, does that mean they will stop the deposits one month early because my contract start date is 9/10.
  13. Call them Monday! Ask them what is the exact reason you were not selected.
  14. StaceeRN, I am SO confused and I feel so bad for posting incorrect information:( I tried to sign up and consolidate with Direct Loans but I read that you have to be in a 10 year repayment plan. However, when I try to do that it automatically puts me in a 25 year repayment plan. Is there a trick to this? None of my loans are Direct at this time.
  15. They are eligible, sorry for the confusion. I got confused between the two program details which is why I should not post anything!!! I hope you get an answer as to what the problem is. Best of luck to you:)
  16. Private loans are accepted in the nelrp forgiveness program. I understand they have to be consolidated for the 10 year public service forgiveness program. Go to the link I posted, they have lots of information on the public service and lowering payments through something called IBR. They also offer webinars.
  17. Private loans ARE eligible per the NELRP website. I got confused on the private loans and the public service loan forgiveness. This is why I am afraid to consolidate because I can't understand all the instructions! Sorry for the confusion. But do visit the link above as they have lots of information related to the public forgiveness rules. I hope that you call them and ask for specifics because it really doesn't make any sense that you were not accepted.
  18. Check with your state department, In FL it doesn't matter about the hire date, you have to commit for a year and you can get forgiveness up to four years. You have to resubmit each year. But it does matter where you work because not all public facilities qualify.
  19. Go to this link Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Eligible Loans | Equal Justice Works and sign up for one of the web conferences. This site has a lot of information regarding the public loan forgiveness program. If I'm not mistaken, you will be able to consolidate your private loans into the program but then that would disqualify you for the HRSA student loan assistance as they do not pay for private loans. Perhaps you could just consolidate your qualifying loans, ask for a deferment and just pay on the private loan. I'm still a little confused myself about the IBR but I understand it helps you get lower payments that you can actually afford once you consolidate.
  20. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't receive it this year. Did they tell you why? Since you know what you will need, be ready the first day the application open!!!
