  1. I used instantcert for my Human Development and Sociology CLEP's with great luck. Has anyone used this for the Health Safety test? It's format is a bit different than the CLEP study aids and I am hoping that its just as valuable.
  2. Thanks Tinman, thats exactly what I needed to hear!
  3. Some of the study guides have questions in the chemistry section such as: What is the mass (in grams) of 7.35 mol water? I'm hoping that a) the actual test is not quite that hard or that b) they provide a periodic table?? This is a pre-entrance exam. Thanks
  4. First of all, are we both Inman's?? Thanks for the reply. After all that worry I just found out that I'm not required to take the biology portion!!! Next question though, I'm now focusing on the chemistry portion. Some of the study guides have questions like What is the mass (in grams) of 7.35 mol water? I'm hoping that a) the actual test is not quite that hard and that b) they provide a periodic table??
  5. This is a bit of a repost, but I felt this section is a better place for my question. Does the HESI's biology section also cover microbiology or is that a different test area? I am applying to an ADN school and am required to take (in sciences) A&P, Biology, and Chemistry. In all my prepping for this test I am feeling comfortable with all sections except the micro questions that I'm seeing on http://www.hesiprep.com. I needed to brush up on my math skills and certainly needed to review some chem and biology, but without having ever taken a microbiology class, this could make or break me! Are there really questions such as: Which of the following is NOT a characteristic of the Serratia genus of enterobacteriaceae I'm also seeing lots of lab related questions (ie The correct reference range for bilirubin in infants is which of the following). I'm not sure how recent HS grads or non medical people could possibly know these questions. This isn't really A&P or Bio right?
  6. Besides all the other non-science topics, the school requires, on the HESI, A&P, Bio, and Chemistry. Does the HESI have a specific Microbiology section? My school's only prereq courses are A&P I, and microbiology is a course in the 3rd semester. I guess my point is that I feel pretty confident in all the areas except micro as I've never taken the course. And since they have students take it during the program, I'm not sure why it would be part of the entrance exam. Bottom line question is: On the HESI, is microbiology part of the biology section? Thanks!
  7. I'm taking the HESI A2 in six days, and only first heard of this exam six days ago. I'm taking this as an entrance exam for an ADN program. I've got a variety of study aids, one of them being hesiprep online exams. I'm currently a respiratory therapist and am getting some questions that I haven't a clue about and wouldn't expect anyone else to know prior to nursing school. Because I'm finding LOTS of mistakes in this test I have to really question how good this site is as a study aid. Questions like: Which of the following species of rickettsiae does NOT need a host to survive? and Turner's syndrome is associated with which of the following systems of the body,or In terms of enteric media, using Salmonella-Shigella agar gives all but which of the following results? I see these as reasonable questions for someone IN nursing school, or post-nursing school, but are these types of questions really on the HESI A2?
