  1. Yes that will be enough time your orientation time counts. Any review book is great the ones i mentioned in an above posting are the ones i used can't remember the names off hand. It reminded me of the nclex us. Can't really give details over it because they make you sign something saying you won't. Good luck you will do great
  2. Yes definitely! You can email me at [email protected]
  3. I thought it was hard. Lots of weird questions. There is no way to prepare for that test. Just glad it is over.
  4. Just wanted to let everyone know i passed.
  5. The insulin thing is so confusing to me. Some ppl say don't hold it some say hold it. I know my charge nurse is really smart though but still so confusing.
  6. Thanks everyone! Yes sounds like she did the right thing. They are on NS got the order for half ns d5 from the PA on call not the doc. I was worried the sugar would go up since his bs stew in the 200s the lowest was 199. Thanks for clearing up my confusion but I am still do confused as to hold the insulin when a pt js npo or not just the sliding scale ones. Thanks I am lucky to have such a wonderful charge nurse who knows her stuff.
  7. j Had a patient npo who's bs was about 200s they were on sliding scale insulin which I covered with regular and also detemir. Accu checks were q6 hours. The previous shift was also covering the bs. My charge told me I was wrong in covering with the sliding scale and she got a order for half ns with d5. I don't agree with the fluids bc he was already so high. Was I wrong for giving the insulin? I was anyways taught to cover the insulin bc other factors besides food can elevate the bs. I even called the md who said to give it. So I guess I'm confused as to when to hold it and when to give it if their sugar is high. They were npo for a failed swallow exam.
  8. Thanks so much!
  9. I've been studying like CRAZY! Since August. My test is dec 13th
  10. Thanks the practice exam had weird terms I had never heard of and I still don't remember all the specific diets for each disease. Hoping I pass!
  11. Wow, I just took the practice exam on the amsn website and got a 56%! Should I be worried?
  12. Really appreciate the advice so far Thanks so much! I bought the review book off the AMSN site and also the review questions but I'm not sure I will get the review questions in time as it is on back order. I've been trying to review all systems and practice questions with my NCLEX books. I've only been an RN for 3 years so hopefully I've had enough exposure. I'm scared the test will be more trick questions like the nclex. Hoping it will be more straight forward. I'll keep you updated!
  13. I'm signed up to take my CMSRN exam 12/13/14 I am super nervous I've heard it is a very hard test. Any test taking strategies are advise from those who have taken it? Is it like the nclex? What should I expect? Help!

I understand the basics of bipap and that it is used for co2 retainers. But how can I tell when my pt needs a bipap. How would abg look, etc thanks
  15. Thank you and sorry my mistake
