  1. thanks everyone I really appreciate it! unfortunately due to family health issues I am having to do a contract back in good ole CNY for the winter. But I am hoping to go to AUstin soon after!
  2. I am currently finishing up a contract at cedars as an ICU float as my contract says but I am more of a hospital float. It has been the worst experience in my nursing career and I feel like my nursing license is constantly on the line at that hospital. there is no sense of teamwork, you are all on your own, the nursing staff is rude and lazy and all that hospital cares about is how everything looks on paper. I feel so bad for the patients because the quality of patient care is terrible. For example I was told that they only document that they turn their patients in the icu and that they don't actually turn them. I can not wait for this assignment to be done and it has completely turned me off to healthcare in CA and I will not be returning. I have heard from other travelers that L&D is just as horrific.
  3. Hi Everyone, So I am looking for some input on a current traveling dilemma I am having. I am currently on my second assignment at cedars sinai hospital in LA and I hate it. The assignment has really beaten me down and I was contemplating going all the way back home to upstate NY to do an assignment. I also want to go to Austin Texas to do an assignment. I am just not sure if it will be worth it to go all the way home or just go to Austin. I feel like if I go home that means I am just taking the easy way out. Has anyone ever traveled in Austin Texas? thanks I really appreciate any feedback!
